BRCGS Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment Course (HARA)

Course Outline:

This new and improved version has been re-designed to support all relevant current issues of our BRCGS Standards: Consumer Products, Packaging Materials, Agents and Brokers Issue, and Storage and Distribution. Each course includes tailored case studies aligned with the specific Standard, allowing participants to apply their learning directly by building a hazard and risk assessment plan.

The course programme reflects the requirements of the Standard and the development and implementation of a hazard and risk management system. It will introduce delegates to BRCGS requirements, quality systems, the foundation of HARA – HACCP, and the other crucial elements in managing a company’s risk-based systems.

By attending this two-day course, participants gain the essential knowledge of hazard analysis and risk assessment principles through interactive exercises and real-world case studies.

To complete the course, participants will take an exam to assess their understanding and practical application of the content.

This course is part of the BRCGS Global Standards Professional recognition programme.

• This is suitable for personnel from the Packaging Materials, Consumer Products Manufacturing, Storage & Distribution, and Agents & Brokers sectors.
• It includes technical managers, quality managers, members of product safety and quality management teams, and anyone responsible for developing and implementing a hazard analysis and risk assessment plan in line with the relevant BRCGS Global Standard.
• New auditors for the BRCGS Global Standards for Packaging Materials, Consumer Products, Storage and Distribution, and/or Agents & Brokers who have not yet completed a hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) course
• Existing auditors seeking a refresher on hazard analysis and risk assessment principles

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of a hazard analysis and risk assessment
• Build a hazard and risk assessment plan
• Explain the benefits of a structured HARA plan
